This is my new set of smallpipes in 'A' made by my friend Malcolm McLaren last week. They are made from Australian Gidgea wood. The tunes (ironically) are- Drops of brandy, Whiskey boys and the Jig of slurrs...
The sound quality of the recording isnt great but these are a wonderful sounding and very well balanced set that takes almost no air at all to play! if you are interested in Malcolms pipes you can contact him through me.

  • @haldur86 Fingering is generally the same, although there tends to be more emphasis on the high notes on the smallpipes, and moreso on the low notes with highland pipes. Basically, if you can play a tune on the highland pipes you can play it on smallpipes, it just may have a bit of a different feel to it and vice versa.

  • Very nice, this one gets added to my playlist:)

Btw, anyone knowing if theres difference between Highland bagpipe and smallpipes regarding the notes etc?

  • @johnnyhorton2 yes but a lowland one not a highland pipe

  • phenomonal

  • do small pipes use a traditional bagpipe chanter?

  • @fannybaw7

    Cheers friend...

  • @williebandit

The Whisky Boeys by Chris Armstrong. It's in his first book "Notes Frae Ma Heid"

  • nice sound, why such a massive chanter?

  • Astounding.

  • beautiful sounding pipes these, but of course to make them sound this good you have to be a damn good player too.... great work!
