Chris Barber's Jazz Band featuring the great Monty Sunshine clarinet solo with the rhythmn section 1957 issued under "1957 Historical Concerts with Sister Rossetta Tharpe" I like to compare this tune played by the young Monty Sunshine with the mature version (Submitted: erwigfilms). The Band featured on this track: Monty Sunshine Cl; Eddie Smith (ba); Dick Smith (bs); Ron Bowden (dr) (Drums could be Graham Burbidge replaces Ron Bowden in December 1957 I do not have the exact date of this concert) (Track 6 of 14) (tunes 1 thru 6 are Barber band only and tunes 7 thru 14 are with Sister Rosetta Tharpe) Submitted: ULAJAZZ

I only knew the single record version - and that haunted me enough in my teens long before I knew jazz let alone what jazz was - but this is something else. Takes the whole performance to new heights, somewhere beyond the clouds A million thanks Ulajazz for this fresh and unknown experience - shame I had to wait till I am 69 for it !

Thank you ulajazz for this lovely upload! It is interesting to compare this 50s version with the 90s one! He was always superb as part of the ensemble or soloing! Thank goodness we are lucky enough to have good people like yourself who are generous enough to share! Be Well, JSE.
