@freedomforall007 You've got to be joking! Those poor, poor criminals who are armed as if they were combat troops, and those nasty terrible police officers who try to keep them in line!
Their training is not to MAKE them a military force, the training is similar because it trains them to be able to work under pressure and control the situation when under extreme circumstances.

@usmccp Sorry pal, these aren't soldiers. They are public servants. They work for the community. If you treat a police officer this way during training, they're going to think it's OK to treat the public (who they work for) like this also. It's very easy to teach discipline without hazing. This type of behavior sets the wrong tone. It is illegal for anyone but cops and military to act like this. And like I said, it ain't the military. Another example of poor law enforcement training.
-
@freedomforall007 Wrong. This discipline is absolutely necessary because cops deal with life and death situations and need to have their faculties with them at all times. If they loose or misplace a weapon or uniform, someone may die. It's called attention to detail, and it's just as important on the battlefield as it is in investigating a crime scene. Little stuff like spitting on the ground at a crime scene puts the officer's DNA at the scene.

@ElGatoLoco698 Wrong ElGato. Cops are trained like this to pay attention to detail. It's the little details that are important. It's called discipline. You keep track of your stuff cause it can make or break a case and it may even be life or death. There's no "oops, I lost my uniform" because next thing you know, the bad guy has a hold of it and is using it to pull over women and rape them, or kills another cop. They aren't being assholes just to be assholes. It's called attention to detail.
