Crikey! that was close!

Low flying RAF Chinook goes over my head. Yes some Zoom But not much. It was bloody close. I felt the wind from it! The camera's zoom locks when taking video.

Reminds me of doing air assault missions, where they'd hover right over our heads while we stood on top of trucks trying to hook the cargo sling onto their cargo hook - nearly got knocked off by their wheels a couple times! The first time one came in to pick us up, I got warned about the rotor wash, but since I'd worked on smaller helos before, I figured it'd be no big deal - Ha! I didn't "prepare" myself and about got knocked over by the rotor wash (in cold weather it was worse)! Good times!

That's nothing! I had a Chinook come at me a lot lower than that in Northern Ireland lol. After I was waving my watch at the pilot when he landed, because of their lateness. Well, it was freezing and we had been waiting for the RAF for ages to pick us up. He would have taken the UDR guys head off stood next to me if I hadn't have pulled him to the ground lol. The undercarriage skimmed the top of the headge behind us lmao fucking funny. Got a great Puma ride out of there that day though.

aah, its our British lads! Was this on salisbury plain by any chance? If you liked this get your ass down there while there's an exercise on. We parked up on the dirt track next to their re-fuelling point. Lynx, chinook, apache & gazelles in and out every 5 mins.
