Patricia Janiot of CNN en Español interviews Zelaya before the Honduras election

Patricia Janiot, in her usual fantastic no-non-sense style, asks questions of deposed Zelaya as he is holed-up in the Brazilian embassy in Honduras. What's interesting is how Zelaya's answers are more about him spinning facts into lies. Obviously, the next day massive voter turn out shows he was way off in his answers, as usual.

Miente más que habla, es mentira que la Corte Internacional de justicia haya aceptado ninguna denuncia, la Corte y Fiscalía que lo procesaron fueron elegidas de manera libre y transparente, el Congreso que votó su sustitución y ha rechazado hoy su restitución fue elegido en las mismas elecciones que Zelaya. ¿Cual es el problema de un impeachment? ¿Está Zelaya por encima de la Ley? Zelaya es un payaso, qué verguenza para un pueblo como el hondureño. Estuve visitando centros de votación y vi un pueblo alegre de que le dejaran pronunciarse: voto de castigo a los liberales y a Zelaya. Ya basta de manipulación y de despreciar la voluntad soberana de un pueblo y sus representantes. Ya basta de castigar una nación por haber sacado a un corrupto medio loco, que sólo buscaba mantenerse en el poder por medio de una constituyente ilegal.

OK, from Honduras. His closeness with Chavez alarmed EVERYBODY, Venezuela has gone downhill since Chavez took over, and it's getting worse by the day. The significant rise in the minimum wage, in the middle of the worst recession in recent history, caused the unemployment rate to go from 29% to over 50%+, dumb move at the worst time just to get votes from the poor, but they all lost their jobs. The military is not rightest, they now obey the rule of law, .

Chávez did not destroy the elites, he created new ones; haven't you seen the richness that Chávez's strongmen (Diosado Bello, Raul Chazin, Adám Chávez.) have amassed ? The "constitutional changes" that Chávez enacted allowed him to concentrate ALL the power into his reign of corruption.

The rightist military removed Pres. Zelaya at gunpoint and exiled him to Costa Rica on basis of a SC order which Zelaya had ignored their rulings on intended popular consultation on June 28,09 to be illegal.
