I hope he reviews the 370Z. I agree with him about the heavier feel on the steering wheel. I miss that the most, the 370 steering is very light and so you don't feel as connected to the car.

I love all the Porsche fanboys who react in shock and dismay when an expert like Tim calls it a draw between a Z and their beloved Cayman S. I would love to drive (and maybe own) a Porsche one day.. but the fact is that the Z cars have always been more practical, much cheaper alternatives to Porsches. They have over 40 years of history, and the Z doesn't owe any other sports car any apologies for what it is. You trade refinement for a more visceral experience and a lower pricetag.

If you want the 350z's engine to rev more eagerly (not that there's anything wrong with it.. especially the HR version), get a lightweight flywheel and an aftermarket clutch. I personally love the meaty power band and the sound of the VQ. The extra revs, power, and throatier sound of the HR brings a smile to my face every time I drive my 07. I had an 05, which was a fantastic car too.. but I really like that 7500rpm redline and the extra power.

@cliffrex Usually, owning a Porsche is a good sign that someone has found quite a good direction in life. That's why you tend to see more Porsches parked in the driveways of million-dollar mansions, than in trailer parks.

He's exactly right about the z's engine being unexcited.. from my humble experience of driving both z33 and cayman S for more than a year, the cayman's engine feels very much alive and fun while 350z's feels somewhat sluggish and slow engine response (I'm guessing it's due to the way ECU control module was programed from factory) BUT nevertheless, I love both car very much and glad I found this video w/ sub, thx! BTW, yet another viewer from Texas lol
