  • You had to replace it again soon after, didn't you? The glass is compromised by the oils from your skin and the extreme heat of the filament.

  • @2Whipps Not yet... Bulbs are still going strong ...

  • It's tempered glass. No damage will come to the bulb or your hands as long as the glass had not been compromised.

  • thanks for the video, I'm going to be installing a 4500K 35W HID kit with digital ballasts on my Saab 9-3 and am going to have the Tech II computer programmed from halogen bulb function to xenon function so the HID kit will work together with my car. Have you ever changed the tiny parking light bulbs that are beneath the High beam headlight bulbs? I can't seem to reach very well in that area. I may need to remove the whole headlamp to install new bulbs.

  • @plptypscp thanks .. No I have not changed the tiny bulb yet .. Let me know how that goes ..

  • You shouldn't take the bulb with directly your fingers.

  • TRY GETTING THE SIDE LIGHT OUT! ITS IMPOSSIBLE!

  • Thanks for the video, my temper was starting to go trying to get the bulb out, thankfully I found your video before i broke the unit!

  • Have you already tried to replace the parking bulb beneath the bulb you replaced in this video? It's very hard to get to it.

  • the marker bulbs (tiny bulbs) can be removed with a set of long nose pliers. be careful its fragile IT IS GLASS afterall, good luck!

  • Yours were so easy to get out... Not mine.

  • big mistake mate, dont you ever put finger on the bulb!

  • Very good vid. I have a question before I do this, my daytime lights and brights work, but not the lights you turn on manually. are the daytime running lights and the manual lights come from the same bulb?

    Thx Brian

  • This was a great video. Thanks so much. Had a loose bulb and didn't want to go the dealership route. Couldn't figure out how to get to that bulb and take out the headlamp. Had no clue the tube for the wiper fluid popped out like that.

  • @amucci Doing the brakes myself saved me 600 dollars! I also bought a Haynes manual on ebay for 40 bucks. It's hard covered, and very easy to follow.

I'm about ready to install my right rear door lock which malfunctioned. This is common with Saab's. I found the part I needed on ebay for 70 bucks. The stealership wanted to charge me 200 for the part, and two hundred for the install!

Just thought I'de give you some ideas for the future. Also, Saab will diagnose your car for free.LOL

    PAYBACK...

  • @amucci I went on ebay, and bought 6000k bulbs. It cost me $15 total. I got the bulbs, put them in, and they are the baddest lights I have ever seen on any car, I kid you not.

The 6000k is the PERFECT light spectrum. They're called "Diamond White." Slightly blue, but not overwhelming where it's annoying to other drivers.

I also got 4 drilled and slotted brake rotors, 8 ceramic brake pads, all for $184, total!!!

  • @brian8793 HA! That was cheap! My dealer wanted $250...$200 for the bulb, $50 to install! Screw them! I'll do it myself!

  • Thanks for putting this on.Ive aleady changed dipped beam and it was so awkward. You certainly make it look simple.I love brian 8793s response.

    ttt

  • Thanks....this saved me a lot of time and trouble. I would have gotten stuck on the windshield washer spout.

  • I went to the Sabb stealership today, and the guy wanted to charge me 100 dollars for the bulb, and 80 for labor. I said "YOU MUST BE TRIPPIN."

  • Thanks alot!
