His contribution to NPR is something anyone who cares about getting reliable unbiased news should very much appreciate, and if you think he's had a THING to do with ONE SECOND of programming on NPR you're a true idiot. NPR's programming is NOT based upon what contributors think, or want them to say. It's a credible, unbiased source of news.

I think you are lacking the sufficient blood perfusion to your brain. The United States is founded as a Constititutional Republic. This gives the states considerable power to forge their own respective fates, and this is not mere abstraction. I fear the rule of men suborning the rule of law. Workers have been compelled to join unions in the past. Constituencies have voted and that one feature that distinguishes a democracy from a Republic.
