  • I just rented this machine from Home Depot. I had a 100 year old floor with paint and sealer, not sure how many coats, but it was thick. I started off with a 23 grit sand paper, the sander tore through all the layers down to the orginal 100 year old floor. I watched these video's, the floor has turned out great. What a GREAT American made product. Thank you Clarke

  • gotta say your teaching method is very good. I feel much better about the possibility of doing something like this myself.

  • Sir i would like to point out that you are notr using safety gloves, dust masks or googles.

  • thanks so much for these videos. They're great

  • what if the floor is in pretty bad shape?

  • ive been doing this job for many years and 2 years ago we started to use red heat norton paper.. so we use almost 85 % of the time 50 grip paper with 100 to finish ..

  • There is no way we would put that much time into the job(s), but that sounds much better with much better results.

  • haha lol you dont really have to run is better you take your time so the edges can be all level and nices like the rets of the floors i always use 60 and 100 doesnt matter which way you use it across or 45 angle when i use it i always forward to the right then go back to the left and then doing like circles and you going to see how nice they look it look like you're not using a circular machine and for the marks use a band sander wit a 100 grain it will help a lot

  • Most of the jobs we do he'll have me start with 20 (too much most of the time) and finish with 80. He also tells me you can "run" with the edger down the sides where the boards run length ways. This just seems like a quick way of doing things and not the right way. Judging by the edger marks it leaves most of time, I'm proably right.

  • it depends how bad is the floor really scracht you might use 40 grit but i always use 60 grit and 100 grit and i recomend to use 1st the edger and then main sander or the drum sander cause they are always going to be edger marks and also you can use a band sander wit a 100 grit on the edges after you finsh wit the main one to take the edger makrs dat the main one wont reach
