Dude, not harping on James Jamerson, because he is the master of the motown bass sound, but the meters would roll over in their theoretical graves (although they aren't dead, thank God for small favors) if they heard you say jamerson came up with that line. The meters were the first to release that song on a record ("The Meters" 1969). Jamerson had nothing to do with it. That is all George Porter Jr.
