Obviously the game as a whole is fictional. The little tidbits of historical information however are probably not meant to be. The description of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome for example. You can tell it's meant to be accurate but is filled with the developer's anti-catholic rhetoric and opinion. If someone mad comments like this about Islam in a video game, people would lose their lives over it!
