Shocking video of NY Democrats sitting through the Pledge of Allegiance

Video of NYS Senate Democrats sitting defiantly through the Pledge of Allegiance in protest after losing political control of the Chamber to Republicans.

Only one courageous Senator tried to stand to honor the flag, but he was immedaietly pulled down into his seat by fellow Democrats.

The video is from WCBS-2 TV on 6/23/09, taped during a "special session" of the Senate called by Democrat Gov. David Paterson in an effort to end a three-week walkout by Democrats that has brought government to a screeching halt.

Grim-faced Democrats refused to acknowledge even their presence in the Chamber, failing to answer when their names were called, or join in a silent prayer that traditionally begins each session.

The first Senator pictured seated is Antoine Thompson of Buffalo. The Senator attempting to stand is Martin Dilan of Brooklyn, abnd he looks clearly uncomfortable when he is pulled down by Kevin Parker of Brooklyn and Ruth Hassell-Thompson of Westchester.

This is the ultimate example of why we are having the tea parties! Those of us who unconditionally love our country, the foundation and values that it is based on -- and stand up for it -- are subject to a myriad of accusations and defamations. But we realize that in the face of all of the negativity being thrown at us, that there is something much more important -- our country and it's future. So all of those names and accusations are trivial compared to what we are facing as a country.

As a staunch patriot who loves this country and comes from generations of MEN and WOMEN who fought for our freedoms under our great flag, I'm appalled at this behavior! They all need to be suspended WITHOUT PAY and ousted from their positions!!!!! Where can I sign up so this can happen??

This video is not shocking in respect to the actions they are taking, we have always known they are hurting America and act against what we stand for. The shocking thing is that they are showing this fact. A person will only not cooperate with their enemies, which is America to the liberals.

I agree with you, I think we need to think about who we vote for before we vote, we have such limited opportunity to sway anything politically in this country, the one small thing we can do is vote.
