i converted the video from qt to wmv and this is how it came out. Phil Shao easily one of the sickest styles that ever existed.

  • Now Hes one of my all time favorites he inspires skateboarders still to this day even after his death. Thanks Phil I know your still shredding somewhere!

  • Thanks for those memory's man, Phil died before I started skating around 1999. When i started I had a lot of old hand me down videos from friends. Many miscellaneous 411's,once in a while Phil would pop up and the dude just had so much soul on a board. I remember thinking how come he doesn't get anymore coverage something had to have happened to the guy, he was that good. Years passed and I always wondered what happened to him until i saw a R.I.P article in thrasher it all came together.

  • I loved his skatin, i too started skatin after or around when he passeaway, i checked out thrashers of this guy, goofy like me, skatin everything and just blowin my mind away, loved the ol think team back then

  • My friend got him to sign the thrasher w/ him smith grinding fort miley, he signed it and put a bubble caption above his head that said, "I wish I was at skatecamp".

My friend got sent to boarding school 2 years later and when he got back his mom had thrown it away! such a devestating blow we both were crushed that a personal piece of a legend, one of a kind thing, got destroyed. It will always be alive in our hearts and memories. Phil your not forgotten!

  • Thanks for this! Phil is undescribable. I met him @ visalia skatecamp in 96' I was 13 and he was killing it, on vert and street. So many pros were there, Salman Agah, Jason Adams, Frank Gerwer (am at time and camp counselor) Shaun Mandoli, Lance Mountain, Ryan Johnson (am at time) the Paez brothers. Phil dominated all of them! he came up to me and shook my hand and gave me props on a b/s 50 b/s 180 out on a flat bar, went out of his way to do that, I will remember that forever. Such a rad dude!

  • you cant fuck with that style..shredded everything in his path

  • The best.
