Leading Australian charity, Autism Awareness is lighting the sails of the Sydney Opera House a brilliant blue on April 1 as part of the global launch of the Light it up blue (LIUB) campaign. The campaign's objective is to help raise awareness of autism as an escalating health crisis in support of World Autism Awareness Day on April 2, 2011.
Many iconic landmarks both here and abroad -- including the Empire State Building in New York City, Kingdom Tower in Saudi Arabia, Melbourne's Federation Square, Brisbane's Storey Bridge and the Bell Tower in Perth will Light it up blue on the evening of April 1st
I actually have a friend who's child was diagnosed with autism when he was 4 and it's more prevalent than many people realise. This is a fantastic way to raise awareness.
