  • poor racehorses...i just dont get how ppl can love horses and enjoy racing knowing all this cruelty that comes with such sport....

  • @stervouchka Obviously you know nothing about the sport...you should go to the track and watch the way in which people take care about EVERY SINGLE HORSE. I assure you no animal in earth is treated with so much love and affection as they are. Of course, sometimes things go wrong, but accidents happen in every sport.

  • @stervouchka No. You should work as a 'Hot Walker' on the backside. Not all are bad people. Yes, as in all sports there are those that bring us a black mark and do some really really bad stuff. But I worked years ago for one of the best Bill Mott and I learned a lot of stuff there that I have passed onto my kids about horses and care. It's a place were 1100 lbs. animals get to be first in the care and attention departments. Yes, they should wait until they are 3-4 yrs. to race.

  • It isn't cruel if the horse wants to run then no it is not cruel. If you force a horse to run then yes it becomes cruel. I want to be a jockey and I study the sport everyday so i would know.

  • @stervouchka

You can't assure safety for any competitive horse. Horse Racing is the only equestrian sport that has its flaws. In Polo many of the ponies collapse and die from sheer exhaustion. In Barrel Racing, a horses tendons can be withered to nothing from over work. In Show Jumpin a horse can easily take a bad step and break a bone. Don't hate on racing because it has a few downs, every sport does.

  • @lengua92 its not by watching the racetrack you will find cruelty, its behind the whole industry, the ones that do not win. I ride horses that were previously racehorses. I know for a fact that if it wasn't for the compassionate people at my barn, these horses would've ended their lives at a slaughterhouse. So do not try to "assure" me that no animal is hurt, because i work with these horses.

Some of the horses are treated like royalty, but those are generally the ones that make money. Hundreds that we never hear about because they weren't big winners end up in slaughter houses. Ferdinand for instance was a derby winner who, years later, ended up as dog chow. There is a certain about of cruelty or at least apathy inherent in the system.

  • @stervouchka Sorry, but I now hate you for saying such a thing.

  • I love this video. It gives me chills every time. The music, the clips, the editing, everything was completely flawless!

  • Beautiful video....just beautiful. Makes me realize just how much I miss my horse. He was an early Derby favorite, then got hurt. He was my Dressage horse and best friend for many years. To Stervouchka, you know not what you speak of.

  • @stervouchka where does this cruelty happen you speak of? you are one of those that speaks without one ounce of knowledge of what you are talking about. maybe you are trying to sound intelegent or whatever, but educate yourself before you say stupid things. these are animals that love to run, and thats what they do. and they are pampered every minute of thier lives
