Strike action in India's tea growing region of Darjeeling is costing the industry dearly.

A strike by ethnic Gorkhas has seen the harvest delayed and caused road and transport disruption.

Darjeeling used 2 be part of Sena n Pala dynasty. These places were inhabited by Indo Aryans b4 Mongols from Tibet or SE Asia arrived. Prior 2 1947 Nepalis in DJ were not even citizens of India. How come DJ is part of India n not Nepal?

There were no Nepalis in DJ. Nepalis were brought from Nepal by the Brits as labourers 2 work in tea gardens. Till 1947 Nepalis in DJ were not even considered Indian citizens. majority of u guys in DJ r ppl kicked out of Bhutan or living after 1950. As per the 1950 treaty Nepalis can live and own properties but they will remain subjects of Nepal. Same courtesy has not been extended by Nepal to Indians.
