Ogham the sun: music of Matt Howden (Sieben) during Summer Darkness 2009 in Utrecht on the Dom square. Matt Howden makes music under the projectname Sieben and under that name he has developed a style in which he plays live without any backing. He uses a loop pedal, a violin, and his voice. He starts with a simple melody, add a bass part or two, some 'drums' by playing beats on various parts of the violin ('kick' behind the strings, 'snare' by slapping the body, and 'shaker' by scratching the pickup with his chin etc etc), harmonies and melodies over the top. Over this he sings and performs. The public can see the song growing an that is very special.
