Michael James hosts this weeks edition of Live From the Heartland. This weeks guests include Mark Kaplan, Julia Patterson, and David F. James. Community organizer Mark Kaplan will talk with us about issues and organizations surrounding the Wilson Yards development project in Chicago's Uptown. Julia Patterson of Beyond Today, an organization of Chicagoans who want to do more about the environment and social justice (http://www.beyondtoday.org/), will tell of us of Beyond Today's environmental and social justice projects at Waters School and beyond. And the legendary David F. James, will report in about his trip to the inauguration, and share stories of his days as a member of the Tuskegee Airmen, being a black man decades ago at Lane Technical High School where he knew football legend Fritz Pollard, his days at Loyola University, and how Dr. King got him to move into Chicago's northern suburbs. David James, now in his 80's will recite Lincoln's Second Inaugural Address as a finale of his first, but certainly not last, appearance on Live from the Heartland.
