I just thought the same thing. I think she's best as immoral, hot women. She was excellent as the young secretary in 2Weeks notice and in Last Holiday. But I liked her in Upside of Anger and Blue Smoke too.

Alicia is a very subtle actress, which I find refreshing. Some people might be turned off by her lack of dramatic repore in her roles, but I think her subtlety makes her more real.

I think it's funny how tasteless critics claim actresses like Alicia Witt can't act when they probably like "actors" like 50 cent.

Alicia CAN act - in the right role. Her guest spot on the Sopranos was the right role. Her temp gig on Law & Order CI is not the right role. Bongwater was a good role for her but a crappy movie.

My suggestion is see CECIL B. DEMENTED, and you'll see just how good an actress Miss Witt is.
