www.WanderingGaia.com at a monastery in Thiksey near to Leh in the Himalayan region of Ladakh, India. We came across this ceremony, called 'je sharak' by chance in the courtyard of the temple, which is at least 3500 metres up. It is a full-day prayer performance for the poor and needy to ensure them adequate food, and takes place three times a year.
