Millions of people depend on the Mekong river for food and income.

China has built hydroelectric dams which has had dramatic impact on those downstream groups and families. For many, China now has its thumb on the region's main artery. David Hawkins reports.

If you want some water why dont you pay for it (look at how much Malaysia is charging Signapore for water)? Water is a valuable resource and China is only acting in the interest of its own people to secure this resource.
