Just because the tape is addressable does not make it RAM. RAM can access any address without interference from any other address. To go from address 1 to address 0 you have 71 addresses interfering that you must cycle through in order, which would take 50 seconds if it were 7 ticks fast. Still some impressive work in here, thumbs up for you sir.

@jeremyjts According to strict definitions, the most RAM in minecraft is not RAM. Signal length causes delay as you go farther back, so if you have a 4 long model each section could only have 4 bytes. I would rather have tape memory than that :P.

@choas55 The server is the RDF (redstone development foundation) server. As the name suggests, it is a dedicated redstone server. You Could apply at "therdf.net". When you get to the website, go to the forums section and find the server applications subsection. You may post an application there. Once you have had your application accepted, you will be let on the server for a 1 hour trial, where you will build something out of redstone. Hope to see you on the server soon!

Even conventional HDD's are more worthy of the name RAM, but you wouldn't see people throwing around the word RAM when referring to SSD's let alone something that rotates with a platter and arm. I have great respect for what you made here, but I think you would have to agree RAM is hardly the most apt description for it when compared to what we conventionally refer to as RAM in minecraft.

according to strict definitions, RAM is not RAM as not all the electrons travel exactly equal distances. You throw the definition out the window, it's not randomly accessible it's sequentially accessible.
