My sweetheart Snuf

My sweet furry friend Snuf went to an MRI scan after they thought he had a brain tumor, but the MRI didn't show anything. But still his behaviour had changed. (walking around like he's "drunk", strenght loss in his behind legs etc.) So I went to the vet again, a ECG, sonogram of the bladder, RX lower back, biopsy and an RX lungs were taken. It showed an abnormal growth in the abdomen. So this Friday, Snuf had a laparoscoy and unfortunately Snuf has a large tumor of the bladder which is inoperable. The vet gives him 3 months to live and that's being optimistic :-(



I will see to it that he has to endure no pain, but how the hell do you make an appointment with your vet to put your dog to sleep the next day?
Anyway, two samples have been taken from the tumor and within' 10 days I now the result of that.



At the moment the tumor has spread to the aorta, it's probably pushing against the spinal cord, that's why he's walking around "drunk"




I wish that I had noticed something sooner, I know he was a bit incontinent, but I've gotten meds for this and they worked. He never showed like he was in pain or anything and I am one that goes to the vet quickly. I know I shouldn't be doing this, but I'm thinking were I went wrong, wy didn't I notice something.



Snuf has got 1/1O room in his bladder for urine, the rest is tumor tissue.



The vet says I can start with some chemo pills to shrink the tumor a bit but that will not work for long, so I will have to ask some good info on that. I'd love Snuf to be with me longer, but I don't want to prolong his life in suffering just because " I want." I will do the right thing by him. It's just not that easy.

I just watched this video, and my eyes filled with tears! Pets are such a joy in our lives, all they give is unconditional love. When they have a problem like this, it just makes you feel so helpless. I lost the love of my life cat, KB last July, so I know your pain. Hope you get through this sad time. :(

Hi, I don't even know you but I just watched "My sweetheart Snuf" and my eyes filled with tears! Pets are such a joy to us but when they have a major problem, it is extremely hard to deal with, knowing all they gave you is unconditional love and you feel so helpless in comforting them!

I ♥ animals too and hope you get through this sad time. I went through this with my most-loving cat KB last July, I know your pain. :(

Oh, poor Snuf.....And my deepest sypathy to you. Having just lost 2 pets in one month I know about pain, When I saw Snuf give you his paw, I began to cry.
