  • Dude, please put your hands in you pockets.

  • Ice and water is a pain in the ass for roofers!!! all granulated ice and water all ways bonds the shingles to the plywood.

GRACE ice and water shield ROCKS!!!

  • I am a GAF Master Elite Roofing Contractor in NH. I would like to personally congratulate GAF for setting the benchmark by upgrading all their laminated shingle warranties to Limited Lifetime coverage. This will no doubt help increase sales for certified contractors who use the program and all the tools to their advantage.

  • look this vid : "THE REAL ROOFER "

    click on the first vid

    have fun

  • Thanks for the video; great info

  • This guy needs to stop talking with his hands, his voice is bad enough!

  • @beachnative420 haha i know what you are talking about, I had my roof resheeted long ago and they used the stuff you are talking about for all seems, although I have no underlaying stuff like the tar paper but still I have never had a leak!

  • yes shingles are only warranteed if there is a proper underlayment because shingles are water shedding not waterproof! And breathable underlayment refers to underlayments that allow water vapor to escape not the perforated paper felt that allows water to enter. There is a difference.

  • This video must be old. Install breathable underlayment? What about Rainguard, the rubber stuff? In Florida it's required now over the seams. I had my whole roof covered with it and never had a problem. Now I'm moving and a home I liked had this breathable paper garbage installed 4 years ago. The roof has 4 leaks, mine none! The inspector said my roof was like new, no moisture. All of this is in Florida so I'm not sure how this applies to where this video was shot or for it's application.

  • So, your shingles are only warrunteed if the deck was waterproofed BEFORE they are installed? Hmmm
