Shiny (Decemberists cover)

This is the third (actually, fourth, but once was my fault) time I've tried to upload this and I'm getting pissed, Youtube. Stop wasting my bandwidth.

Here's my cover of Shiny, which has a rock beat and isn't soft and pretty because other people did that and I didn't want to be boring. Feel free to yell at me for destroying the integrity of the song. I'll just laugh and tell you it's a reinterpretation.

Oh, and a note on the quality: did this with my new camera, was going to route the audio to the new laptop except the mic jack is a hopeless piece of garbage. At least the video's okay.

Cool interpretation, I like the percussive sound you got and the upped tempo. But the chorus sounded a bit sloppy... Maybe emphasize the bass notes and palm-mute bits of it next time? But I agree with whoever made that comment about the baby Taylor making it sound more metallic. Definitely added to the sound you were going for. Keep up the good work!

Shiny is one of my favorite songs. I think you did a good job with this. You've actually somehow made the guitar sound "shiny"...cool! I also like the fact that you've taken the rhythm and done something different to it. This is just great.

Wow! The baby Taylor sounds so much more treble-y and metallic here. Perfect for a song called Shiny. I have this song stuck in my mind now. Love it. I'm glad you kept the little oops in. It's so anti-commercial and full of integrity. Doesn't detract in the least. In fact, it adds something, like those rug-weavers who include a mistake or two to let out the evil spirits. Thank you!
