In this lesson we are stacking 4ths within C Dorian mode to create some nice modern sounding arpeggios.

  • Nice video. Ive been practicing fourth for a while, working with a fingering system instead of baring. I hope it pays off though, because I like the articulation from using one finger per note. How do you think baring quarters is working for you? You had a hard time getting it together? thanks for sharing, nice playing as well. best, Sandemose

  • @Sandemose Personnaly I prefer baring, it's the easiest way for me. Just use the technique you feel comfortable with!

  • That pedals? and amp?

  • @TheGuitarMartin Menatone Howie > Mesa V-twin as a preamp > sound card. Hope it helps!

  • best guitar lesson on youtube!!

  • Where's the Quartal harmony?

  • What?! A guy asked where the quartal harmony is!! It's all over the place. Wow! Thats was sweet! A lot like John Scofield!

  • how do you get that tone, it sounds so like scofield

  • Nice playing.

  • No use for this ... unless you want to groove in one key center

  • It's funny - I know how to play all that, I just don't know why...

    Really.

I don't know a Dorian from an Aeolian. I don't even know what key I'm in half the time.

I just know how to close my eyes and let the notes come.

  • @clubreverb uuhhh no

  • @Sandemose honestly youll get the best performance from barring if you can master it. takes alot of potential playability away to not do that. the main idea behind it is that you can take one finger to focus on the quartal harmony while the rest can add the fusion sound.

  • VERY NICE !!!!!!

  • im listening to sme mtal genres like metalccore, deathcore and sometimes progressive or instrumemtal metalsongs. but this is cool to :D

  • Beautiful stuff, Scofieldesque at its finest

  • @HendrixcommaMartin ok I gotta say, there was no way I could have known that... my bad.
