We've all heard the term "futureproof" before. This is a bit of a rundown (not a normal episode) of what that means, how you can do it, and what are the things that are best to make big investments to "futureproof" as well as things that are best to buy what you need then upgrade later.

I agree with with everything but the SLI - I have gotten a mid lvl card $250-$300 card then added another one a year later when it was selling for $190. SLI gives %70-%90 increase in FPS. If you Google high end benchmarks, the GTX 470/480 still competes with 5xx 6xx series and is around the same price. There are many videos out there stating two cheaper SLI cards will out perform a pricey single card.

Have you watched SCEA at the 2013 E3? and previous E3, If I recall correctly almost every PS Console Lived "Game Wise" 10+ years. Heck I still have a old fat PS2 MODDED with chip 500gb HDD, play games without even putting in a disc. Some people don't know how to take care of consoles or even PC. I know PC is best platform for gaming, but there is just some games that never make it to PC.

well, its like he said, everything is progressing and time ticks on ( and waits for no man) or pc for that matter...Now the real is as I see it....My pc flows through time...as time ticks on, I upgrade..till I reach a point that I max out the things my chip set can support. ram,hdd ect..then its time for a new socket...its ALWAYS an i7 (ivy bridge today Haswell tomorrow)....the things we can do today are just a start for what we will do tomorrow.

lolololol like the ps3 was going to be dead in 2 years like people said?

Stop being stupid, yes it will run games at lower resolutions/less details when compared with PC'S, but it will handle.

I give it 5-6 years max.
