Leadership and Character Building workshop at the Podu Jaya school, Angulana - 2nd Oct 2010 - Part 4

This CSR project was carried out with the valuable support of the Gampaha district JCI. The voluntary resource personnel shared not only their insight but also their souls!

The objective of the program was to build character and impart knowledge on different styles of leadership for the Youth of the poverty stricken Angulana area. The people living in this area face a lot of dramatic problems as most families run without the main provider for the family. The family unit is scattered due to unhealthy influences such as alcohol, drug abuse, sexually transmitting diseases etc.... it's a sad sad situation because the potential and the talents of the youth is so unique and very impressive. The thinking patterns are well above the standards for many individuals. Most participants were coming from broken or abusive families. Few were battling with alcohol and drug addiction problems..... such a waste of raw youth and unlimited talent..... it was heart breaking .... Yet it was soul soothing....
