Legal Solutions - Absconded Husband

A woman calls in saying she phoned before a couple of weeks ago regarding her ex-husband, he has absconded (LOL at the big word). My parents wanted to know if we should file a divorce in India or will it be better to file a divorce in England. Harjap says is he in England. She says yes. Harjap says then you have to file it in England and then you cant file it in India. She says no, because when we did get married in India, we didnt get a certificate for here or anything. Harjap says it doesnt matter; you still got to do your divorce here. She says so we can do it here. Harjap says yeah you can, you have to do it here, because you are not a resident of India you see. You are going to file for divorce so you have to do it here. She says so it will still be ok if we did it here and he would attend if he was asked for. Harjap says well he might not attend but you have to do your divorce here. She says we dont have any contact address for him. Harjap says when you contact your divorce solicitor, you will have to explain that to them and they will try to tell you what the procedure is. She says they will be ok with that. Harjap says yep.
