@jimmy08LTFC ,.Looks like it’s in the bag for Mary J. Blige! Good call with Erykah as she has acting experience, as well as an incredible vocal range!. This is such an important biopic I pray they cast this one correctly and not just to satisfy the mass market.
Perhaps we should save Jennifer Hudson for Aretha?

@DrAyaba,..I so agree, she needs to be honoured not just respected.
Not sure if you’re aware that a biopic of Nine Simone is now said to be in preproduction. There seems to be a lot of debate as to who is worthy of playing Nina. Mary J. Bligh is said to be a favourite. Many are rightfully sceptical of Mary’s lack of acting experience, but few people seem to be able to suggest an alternative!
For what it’s worth, my two names in the bag, Jennifer Lewis or Jennifer Hudson.

Thanks for Posting. I have been looking for this online, so I can practice it for my concert! All my albums are in storage. My brother friend Weldon Jonathan Irvine, Jr. was working with her then and I was in the audience! So thanks again. She is absolutely my muse and divine inspiration. I danced and sang to her once to share with her what I felt we Black people would do if we had a village to welcome and honor her. She has yet to be honored as she should be by those who honor folks.
