Only about 80 civilians from around the world have actually executed this jump -- it is an exclusive experience!

Entrepreneur Kenneth Castiel is going to do a Tandem HALO skydive out of a plane at 30,000 feet. This is the cruising altitude of a commercial jet. He is doing this in Memphis, Tennessee in aid of many wonderful charities.

A normal tandem skydive is a great leap for most people, but the HALO Jumper which Kenneth is doing takes skydiving to the extreme. HALO, short for High-Altitude Low-Opening is a military-style parachute jump occurring at about 30,000 feet -- that's 16,000 feet higher than the average plunge.
HALO was originally designed during the 60's as a military maneuver to insert behind enemy lines undetected. Because you would jump from 30,000 feet, the cruising altitude of a commercial jet, on radar everything would look normal.
The temperature up at 30,000 feet is usually between 25 and 40 degrees below zero and you have to wear a full oxygen mask as at that higher altitude the air is thinner and you would remain conscious for about 30 seconds without oxygen. Kenneth will have to pre-breathe oxygen for about 40 minutes to purge all the nitrogen out of his system to avoid getting the "bends."
He will be trained by Ex-military and get to experience the ultimate freefall of 2 and half minutes before the parachute actually opens (double any other skydive). When we asked him why he was doing it he replied, "I believe in setting goals and achieving them, it makes you feel great and in the process you rewire your brain for greater potential."
