  • good job buddy

but my wonder is do you water them 24/7 or on timer and how many times a day do you water the tomatoes

  • @giftsfromtheholyland In a Dutch Bucket system, it depends on the type pf media. I'm using perlite and vermiculite which hold lots of water, so I water 6 times a day for 14 minutes. The Pots also hold water (about an inch in the bottom as a reserve). If you were using a media that does not hold any water, like clay pebbles, you would need to run the water 24/7. Hope that helps.

  • hello there you did great job my wonder is do you keep the water 24/7 on the tomatoes or turn off or how does it work?!!! I do hope get a reply

    Thanks in adance.

  • thank you for the reply

but if I keep the water 24/7 on the plant will have time to get watered and grow!!

what is the growth for the tomato plant and how many times you get tomatoes off it!! in a week?

  • @jjones624 The buckets are standard BATO buckets you buy from a supplier. Not sure of the dimensions, but they have a special design to allow for draining and a recirculating PVC pipe. They can lay flat on the ground. They're only about $5 bucks each, but worth it. The tomatoes are indeterminate. No the roots are very 'fine" and do not clog or fill the buckets. These are pretty popular for vine crops, cucumbers, tomatoes, other crops like those.Hope that helps , good luck.

  • How big are the buckets? What type of tomatoes, determinate or indeterminate?

Did you have a problem with the roots being too big for the bucket?

    Great setup and nice video!
