why is a caique not a good beginner bird ?

@afrogsfantasy They can be very rough with owners, they need a lot of play time, they will chew things up if you let them and will pinch your fingers and neck, so if your not used to that kind of thing...you need to stick with just your basic petshop birds

These type of birds are actually better off in pair, IMO. They are full of life and the love to go after each other, so long as you play with them and get them young they will be just fine as a pair, but these are BAD birds to have for a first parrot...you should really have some past with parrots before buying a caique

My IRN Keiko plays like this with my GCC Kiwi. You'd be surprised who gets the upper hand most of the time....

I have a black-headed Caique. Mine is so playful & will shred up anything he can get his beak on! They are so unique & cute!!

@fairfresh Parakeets are so much smarter they may be easier to train, but because of it, they tend to have their own agenda.

Cockatiels are great first time birds, the best .Parakeets are much smarter tho..
