Pair driving lovely Carriage roads in Acadia National Park, Maine. The horses are home bred and raised half-Percheron/ half-Arabian full brothers, trained by us for pleasure Carriage driving and riding. They are ages 6 and 8 and have been going to Acadia yearly for 4-5 years.
This trip our horses were very fit, having been given extra early conditioning for their climb up Mount Washington in July! So we literally drove them on ALL Acadia's horse-accessible Carriage Roads during the week of our stay!
Both horses are barefoot and wearing hoof boots on all 4 feet to protect from the abrasive surface of the Carriage roads, which are like stone dust. Video has more info about the carriage trail locations. Many more videos of these horses being trained for driving, and other horses on my Channel!
