Scientology vs Facts & Logic

Sydney, August 16. A Scientologist engages in a debate with anons about OTIII. His incoherent arguments and denial of facts reflect a deeply ingrained cultic mindset.

I think everyone has the right to believe whatever faith they choose, so I do not oppose anyone for believing in the OTIII stories. However, I oppose the Church of Scientology - an organization that charges thousands of dollars for supposedly spiritual services (including OTIII), and I do not believe it is acceptable for a "church" to lie to its members about its own doctrines.

To many Scientologists Xenu can be difficult to accept and even somewhat embarrassing, though its presence in the doctrine hardly impacts their confidence in the writing of L R Hubbard. Likewise, intelligent Christians may not believe that Moses parted water and have a natural skepticism regarding the notion of virgin birth, yet still prey. It is sad that we commemorate Jesus through our calendar and until this stops society will struggle to free itself of the dominance of traditional religion.
