does the UGCC have the liturgical books that are using Church Slavonic? I wish that like the Summorum Pontificum of the Latin Rite, the UGCC will retain the use of this ancient language :D

We sing the same version of this hymn in English at my parish. I absolutely love it!

Unfortunately, we are not in communion w/ any of the Orthodox Churches--we pray that all may be one someday.

Slavonic, spoken by the Bulgars & Moravians was the "heathen vernacular" in the time of Sts. Cyril & Methodius (9th c) Only Latin, Greek & Hebrew were liturgical languages. The East has less difficulty w/ the vernacular usage than the West. HOW the liturgy is celebrated is far more important than the language (St. Elias is an English language parish that also uses Ukrainian, Greek, French) Even Archbishop Lefebvre said the Tridentine Mass in English is better than the Novus Ordo in Latin.
