ThrDthPwrPrg fails to realize that they don't use 7 string guitars but tune 6 strings down to b.
i guess.

simple and plain: no. i've seen them live, i've seen live videos, i'm one of the biggest fans, what the fuck do you want?
6 string guitars tuned down to b, like almost every other swedish death metal band.

I'm not sure why their is this huge debate over 6 and 7 string. Anders did play a 7 string. Look at the video Blinded By Fear. If you pause the video he does play a 7. I also got to see them on their Suicidal Final Tour in St. Louis in '08. Yep 7 string. I wasn't more than 5' away from Anders and Thomas. I even drank a beer with their guitar tech after the show. As far as I know Martin played 6 string tho.

well it doesnt sound like shit depends on the guitar though i can only speak for mine but for this they didnt have baritone guitars for sure i forget which brand exactly but anders at the least had a shitty guitar it might be called like vespr or something they are out of business now
-
or, if anyone had any idea what they were talking about instead of trying to sound like they do just cause they think someone else's comment is stupid, they'd know what a Baritone Guitar was. 6 strings, build to resonate lower, hence not sounding like TOTAL SHIT when you play it.
-
Actually, they're built to resonate a bit differently. And the reason it sounds like shit when you tune down that low on a regular guitar is because it's not resonating correctly...
Guitars arent just hunks of wood with strings attached. Theyre finely tuned, calibrated, and we tune to to certain notes because, although anyone can pick up a guitar and pretend to know what they're doing, sound is about timbre and vibration. And no amount of distortion can cover up a terribly tuned instrument.
-
or u can take normal one and put 13's on it and tune to b all the time
-
makes sense. Standard 7 string tuning to get that low end. But yes, i just looked it up, you are correct, B standard. What i think is funny, is that when my band plays slaughter of the soul, or blinded by fear, we just use C, and it still sounds heavy as fuck. I guess we never played it side by side with the track going to discover that they were infact lower than C. Lols!!!!

they are tuned to b standard b e a d f# b i know a bunch of their songs and tune to that and they all sound the same and ive seen them say it themselves on their forum
very good! i have one question... there is no palm muting after the intro ?

No heavy palm mute like in the beginning, but in the verse I keep all the notes on the B string lightly palm muted, and also in the triplet riff there's a palm mute on the power chord starting from the first string. just listen to the song to hear them

A guy asked me about the guitar sound on this recording but I deleted it because of a mistake... sorry!... anyway, it's funny how the sound turned good. I normally use a Line 6 Flextone II HD, it's my sound. But here I just used a V-amp pro with a 40W Marshall... :-)
