Alan Jones 25 Years.mov

On November 5th 2010 more than 1,100 people gathered in the Sydney Convention Centre in Darling Harbour to pay tribute to broadcaster Alan Jones on his 25 years in radio.

The night included speeches by former Prime Minister John
Howard and businessman James Packer. The night also included a produced audio-visual tribute. Here is a slightly edited version of that tribute

Fancy forgetting Ross and Gavin. Ross has done a fabulous job in putting together this marvellous video of your amazing achievements over 25 years. And of course Paul working behind the scenes deserves a big pat on the back. Alan stay brave and true. Your honesty and integrity have stood you in good stead all these years although my friend ray from north rocks thinks you are anything but honest and genuine but what would he know. Again, congratulations.

Alan Jones is the best thing to happen to Sydney radio since Eric Baume back in the fifties. I used to listen to Eric Baume so I'm showing my age. Alan, we hope you will be around for another 25 years. Congratulations and good health.
