Pat Metheny Group: "The Way Up" (Cover)

A couple of years ago, I recorded a cover of the closing section of the Pat Metheny Group's long-form piece "The Way Up." I decided to throw together a quick video for it (really nothing more than a series of pictures), and here it is. It's probably not the most exciting video you'll ever see, but I like the music.

The overall theme to the images is one of progressive scale, moving from the very small to the very large. The equations (organized into artwork by an artist whose name I should look up so I can give proper credit) are inserted roughly where they would apply. So, one sees the Schrödinger equation for the quantum effects at the very small scale and moves up through Maxwell's equations, Newton's law of universal gravitation, and the Doppler effect one sees in red-shifted stars and galaxies.

For the tech folks out there, I used a Korg TRITON Extreme (recorded into Pro Tools) for all of the parts on this piece.
