Raw video of my (bumpy) trip out to the Rena immediately after stormy weather Wed 12 Oct 2011 Shot for TV3 News, please dont steal this video, this includes Prime News, "First at theft"
@colliecandle : You might be aware that maritime law does not prevent such massive disasters at all, so things will repeat and repeat. Put the captain in jail even for 10 years, the tax payer cares for the rest. Not a very smart approach in my understanding. By the way, where is this captain currently??
@N9155E I agree. The owners are culpable, but nonetheless the captain is the person who must bear main responsibility as he is the man who has total control of anything and everything that happens whilst the ship is in his care - on a ship, even the owners are secondary to a captain - his decisions outweigh theirs period. This is maritime law.
@colliecandle : you should consider to jail the ship owners, the maritime authorities and government of Liberia allowing that profit is made with such wrecks.
Having travelled from the US to Australia on a cargo ship exactly like this one (except we didnt run aground) this horrifies me....How could this happen? Was the captain trying to sabotage his own ship? WHat a dickhead. And thanks to Geoff for being able to film this travesty.
i think from 2:00 to 2:30 his voice is like a porno
