I loved the color options on the GS500F's, but I've heard really lackluster reviews and sitting on it wasn't as comfortable as the Ninja 500. The Ninja was also lighter, narrower, and more nimble. I kinda disliked the gauges connected to the bars. Went with the Ninja.

Which bike did you end up with? I've heard good things about the GS500f, not quite as fast as the Ninja 500, but a whole lot better on gas. Plus has the rep of being easy to correct beginner errors, and reliable as well.
