  • Let's teach the kids geography so that they know where their jobs will be outsourced.

  • and competing in the global work force doesn't require the best and brightest, it requires the cheapest labor.

  • obama says "my friend, Arnie Duncan", what he meant to say is my criminal associate.

  • I noticed that right when he said it. So very sad. How can we trust this guy to head our education system when he can't properly speak his native language? The fact that Obama selected this guy makes me seriously question the choice I made in November. I'm pretty surprised that there hasn't been more of an outcry about the "I" incident. I guess that just reflects how bad our education system really is; almost nobody even noticed it. Incredibly sad.

  • "I want the best basketball playing cabinet in the white house." MAN, he's good.

  • You're correct! If I were Obama I would have replaced him on the spot. Then Biden and I would find a gramatically sound replacement.

  • How so?

Name someone more qualified, who isn't vilified by either the teacher's union or the education reformers, and you might be able to make that claim.

  • Arne Duncan is alluding to an obsolete phraseology of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II 'My husband and I' when he spoke of: 'gave my sister and I'. Thus, if it's good enough for Her Majesty, it's good enough for Arne Duncan, even though it could be argued that such phraseology is retrogressive :-)

  • love what he says at 06:20, v true!

  • Arne Duncan has to do nothing to further education for working adults, since working implies the adult can fund their further education at a US/foreign college. A complication is the veterans eligible for funded further education as compensation for, or as an incentive to voluntarily provide 'service' to the US, at your, tax-dollars' expense. A free-for-all scheme would be an option, as in parts of the EU, but choice would often be linked to education not in conflict with government policies.
