Pianist and composer, Marcos Souza recorded his sixth CD Chapada Diamantina. Known also as an instrumental music producer, researcher and radiobroadcaster, he is son of the Brazilian composer and acoustic guitar player Francisco Mário (www.mysapce.com/franciscomario), and nephew of the cartoonist Henfil and Herbert de Souza, the Nobel Peace Award appointed. (http://www.ibase.org.br/cgi/cgilua.exe/sys/start.htm). Marcos Souza has made his first soundtrack in 1987 for the film Acorda Raimundo! which has awarded a prize in The Cuba Film Festival. He also composed tree soundtracks for children theatre. In 2003, he was the soundtrack composer for the movie Evandro Teixeira, Instantâneos da Realidade, about a famous Brazilian Photographer, and directed by Paulo Fontenelle from the film producer Canal Imaginário. In 2004, he made a soundtrack for the movie Brilhante, directed by Conceição Senna, and produced by MP2. In 2005, Marcos released the CD Chapada Diamantina with this soundtrack. Still in this year, he conceived and produced the movie 3 Irmãos de Sangue (3 Blood Brothers), and once again was responsible for the soundtrack. This film shows the trajectory of his father, uncles and family, which were extremely important to the history of Brazil and humankind. The film conquered the prize of best Brazilian Movie at the New York Festival, in 2007.
