Long-ass description... Read at you're own peril...
Sorry about the recording anomalies, to whoever's watching. The video is playing back about 25-30% slower than I recorded it. Though you should probably be able to tell something is wrong by how screwed up the audio is. So in case you're wondering, this is not the PAL DMC1. My other DMC1 videos run at normal speed.
Here's the thing about Nelo 3. IMO the best DT ability for taking hi down is Meteor 2, and at the same time, Stinger 2 is probably the best non-DT move for this battle, visa vi being able to get near him and stop him from doing anything relatively safely before taking other various measures to build up DT with you're sword attacks.
An interesting thing to observe in this battle is how easy it is to switch to Alastor via R3 during the stun effect of Meteor. This attack is a guaranteed stun at all times except for the horizontal slash windup and the dropdown/low guard he does prior to an uppercut, and posssibly that punch and roundhouse kick combo he sometimes does, which I couldn't get him to use against me here:-/
Also, I could've/ should've used a Roundtrip prior to his teleport away from me before he got me with that Phantom Sword cluster. I cannot reliably deal with his PSwords without preempting them somehow, via Meteor, Vortex/ or Roundtrip. I've come to rely on that sort of measure at this point, not being able to stop his PSwords means significant pain for Dante:p
I could've also tried a Roundtrip during Alastor combos to stall Nelo while switching to Ifrit, while that might've been kinda interesting, I still found may opportunities to perform a switch anyways. Generally it's those same opportunities when you know a taunt is feasable. Another cool way to force a weapon change against Nelo is once you're DT gauge is full, DT and perform 2 slashes and then a Stinger. The Stinger will almost always Knock Nelo back, then run backwards, unDT, immediately switch to Ifrit, and immediately DT, then hit him with as many Metoers as you want. really, anytime you land a blow that stuns him, you should be able to run away from him a bit and switch weapons in time before he has a chance to attack you. It's just that the above method is a way to control you're opportunities to land a blow that will knock him back. 2 DTed slashes and a stinger almost always does that.
Maybe I'll make a better version of this battle later, but this is the best I got the opportunity to do at the time.
Anyways, that's it for the lengthy explaination... later.
correct me if im mistaken but i think on dmd dante can survive with only 1 hp. a little gift for this fucking hard mode :)
