@TheDonnyvaughter I believe the originator is Rev. Maceo Woods. That version is out here on youtube too. Try looking it up under Rev. Maceo Woods in iTunes or Amazon. I hope this helps. I remember my moms choir singing this song when I was little, I loved it then and I still love. Stay blessed!

@feaqs The first recording to my understanding was by Maceo Woods & Christian Tabernacle of Chicago around 1970 but i have a version of Detroit's New Bethel Baptist Church Choirs (Aretha's church) singing this from the early 60's on their radio broadcast.

The first recording I heard this song was by Rodena Preston & the Voices of Deliverance back around 1975/1976. The album title was "There's Been a Change".

Soprano: With the Lord as our leader, our guide and our keeper, I'll get home someday thank God get home someday.
Yes I'll make it home some day I know I'll make it. Yes I'll make it home someday I know I'll make it. I know I'll make it. Some how I got to make it. With the Lord as our leader our guide and our keeper, I'll get home someday thank God get home someday.
