Around 70 protesters have occupied an empty plot of land next to Kew Bridge in Brentford, London (TW8 0EW). They've set up an eco-village.
This will showcase community based sustainable methods of living such as vegetable growing, compost toilets. They in the process of setting up tents and are cleaning the site of rubbish.
Here's film from Day One.
They've clearly a lot of work ahead of them but it's a chance, if they pull it off, to showcase another way of living on a more permanent basis. Climate Camp squared, if you like.
More footage to come, later in the week.

@marshallh80 You open up by saying 'these people seem to be good people', but go on to say 'they are not contributing to society' and you think they are 'a group of lazy smelly hippies'.
This alone says a great deal about your logic and perception of the world. It would pay for you to improve yourself before passing judgement on others.

These people seem to be good people. BUT they are not contributing to society, and I can't help but think that actually they are a group of lazy smelly hippies just wanting an easy ride in life in the name of environmentalism. I would prefer that if this group of people felt so strongly about it, they purchased the land on the council, then of course they can live any way they wish. Instead they are squatting, no paying anything in council tax and creating a huge ugly eyesore on the landscape

This video is about two months old now. The eco village is really taking shape now.
