A short cross-disability film on living with depression by Lorre Leon Mendelson. She says of the film: "I created this short on depression which was my dream: creating accessible info. on mental health, to show our health is not just about "getting rid of mental illness" in ourselves and others... I had a couple of goals: to make information available to ALL my sisters and brothers with disabilities including those who identify as people with psychiatric diagnoses, those who are blind or visually impaired, deaf people and people who are hard of hearing and to let them know they are not alone AND to embrace my disability. I think in mental health systems sometimes, our focus is on taking the right medicine, listening to the doctor to the exclusion of ourselves and living very isolated lives. We can have depression and not be in a constant state of suffering . I am reminded by the rest of the disability community to love all of me. When we provide access to communication, ALL may participate and make informed decisions. I love this quote from Marca Bristo If we cant go everywhere, we cant go anywhere.
