Fibromyalgia is really a garbage-can diagnosis. The sad truth is that there 100 reasons why you'd feel widespread unexplained pain---and it's not because you don't have enough Lyrica in your body.

Here is part one of seven things you should avoid if you've been "diagnosed" with fibromyalgia---or have fibromyalgia symptoms.

  • Oh, and... What about honey?

  • Same story.

    Alternative non-chemical sweetener is Stevia.

  • So you say to avoid all sugar? Does this include the sugar that the body breaks down natural from fruits and plants????????? I know I CAN NOT have anything citrus

  • Sugar is sugar. Whether from a packet or a glass of orange juice.

Look, everything you eat eventually turns to glucose in your body. Don't shortcut that by eating things that quickly turn to glucose. Occasionally, eating a whole fruit (like a stone) fruit WITH protein is probably okay.

  • I have always had a hypo-active thyroid, Diagnosed with RA/Fibromyalgia 5yrs ago. Before they hooked me up to the IVs, I took a different course. Changed my diet, no sugar, chemicals, meat, processed foods, or foods that I had sensitivities. No will power, if you feel better, you'll do what it takes. I took up yoga; practice today, every other day 1.5hrs.

In my 50s and people tell me that I have this lovely glow, or aura or something...health is; True beauty.

The good doctor speaks the truth.

  • i did this kinda diet a few yrs back and it works!!!! it's so hard to keep to it though! 99% of day to day food stuffs are bad for us, try it though!! just leave out sugar, wheat, carbs, msg's, junk foods (all)....if you don't feel any better within a week or two??? your not sticking to the diet!!! it's that simple....eat little and often, if you cut corners you'll suffer...free from and organic foods are better for all anyhow, the diet will be easier if the whole family joins in.. IT WORKS.

  • thank you for sharing - I abuse all the stuff you just talked about. sugar, carbs & sweetner. Looking forward to watching part two ;)

  • I never had fibromyalgia until approx 18 months after a back injury...This idea that its from depression is BS. How about you Drs take us seriously instead of writing us off and "labeling" us as depressed or something else. Dont brush us off, Dont ignore our very real pain, and Oh yeah try to find the real cause!!!

  • so WHAT can a poor man afford to eat ???

  • I couldn't agree more!

  • Thank you. It feels good to see a doctor take interest in helping people from the bottom of his heart. You make so much sense. I'm due to start a detox soon which means I'll be cutting out all the things you mentioned anyway. I pray this works as if I get any worse I feel I'll end up in a wheelchair.

  • At the same time, I understand what you mean, I mean fibromyalgia to me just seems to be what happens to the body when under a lot of stress, both physical and mental - my doctors are in the progress of labeling me with this and I honestly don't believe that this is what is wrong with me, but I do have a lot of related issues and that is why I'm going to take all of your advice and change my diet and see if that doesn't help :) so thanks for the tips

  • As a 12 pack (or more) per day Coke drinker... I can say cutting back to having one or two every 3-4 days has seriously improved my pain/stiffness!

  • I've listened to the 2 videos. How do you keep a diet without carbs, wheat, milk products and my big one SUGAR and Cabs. I don't know how to keepaway from sugar and carbs. I can keep away from them for a few days then I crave it like crazy. I am going to try stevia but how do I stay way from carbs they are everywhere!!!!

  • Stevia is a natural sweetener and it actually tastes better in my opinion

  • This makes me very sad because the only thing that makes me feel better is having coke :-[
