@Kaizerworks While that's true, there was a great deal of religious turmoil in England and Europe at the time. A sudden change in regime could have seen them hunted down and killed as heretics. Not that they weren't all intolerant bastards.
But, more relevantly, Thanksgiving wasn't so much of a religious celebration (though it could be argued that everything the Puritans did was) as a "yay, we're not all dead!" celebration.

False: The Puritans who came over here came to exact religious intolerance. They fled England for the religious freedoms that others enjoyed, not the other way around.
