A 5.1Ch audio experiment, using original 2.0Ch sound and remixing up to 5.1Ch.

It was simple really, but just a long task, using Sony Sound Forge and Premiere Pro naturally.

Surround sound at FazZ Filmz is hugely important and with likes of Dolby HD and better DTS HD, it's highly important to get the basics right such as standard Dolby 5.1Ch which is good, but not great.

I won't get technical as this conversation honestly could go on forever, but at the end of the day, Audio is 50% of the movie, with the other 50% being the Visual.

Try watching a movie on a 3m (meter) wide screen, using a tiny mono speaker.
Totally useless and ruins the movie and the whole experience.

The footage contains dialogue from the 'Resident Evil -- The movie' OST. Yeah, I know, bad movie, amazing video game, but the dialogue has always appealed to me, even though it's in a tacky American accent. I think Russian or Japanese would have been more fun... which I'm working on myself with my Fiancée Irena. The visual footage has been taken from another short movie I'm currently working on and due to be released in April'08. The footage is from the sketches and not the final, so it will probably never get seen and only the final, so thought it would be KooL to at least use it somewhere. As this is more about audio, the visual didn't really matter in this case.

Sadly, YouTube is about more about quantity over quality, so the audio in this clip is totally lost and really hear for the record, but doesn't really show the benefit. This entry will be updated with the 'streaming' High Quality and 5.1Ch edition shortly from 'FazZFilmz.co.uk', which will have both a 5.1Ch Windows WAV file and probably a 5.1Ch WMV with some visual work.

Watch this space... because it's going to be amazing! :)
